ADA stands for Americans with Disabilities Act, and was put into legislation back in the 90s and then later updated. The act simply states that all public areas must have the proper signs displayed for handicapped people. Some of these signs include braille signs, handicap signs, wheelchair signs, and handicap bathroom stall signs. You may not be aware of this, but if you’re a business owner you are required by law to have your facilities ADA compliant. This means having all the necessary signs as designated by their guidelines.
Offices, malls, hotels, restaurants, libraries and hospitals are just a few type of businesses that need to be ADA compliant.
Part of what we do for our clients is research the most recent ADA code so that you don’t have to worry about anything but running your business. In addition to proposing the right signs for your business in order to be ADA Compliant, we also follow the installation guidelines. You may have compliant signs but if they are not installed following the guidelines, they won’t suffice. Our team is qualified to produce and install according to the sign code. If you are not ADA compliant, your business can be fined up to and in excess of $50,000. Check out some examples of ADA signage recently installed for customer in Dublin, CA.
